Privacy policy

Last updated: 29 July 2026

This page explains what personal data this website collects, why it is collected, and what your rights are. In short: there is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking here. Data is only processed when you write to me yourself.

Who is responsible

Yaroslav Bilyavskyi, an independent web developer based in Ukraine.
Contact for any privacy request: aroslavbilavskij1@gmail.com

The contact form

When you submit the form, the following is transmitted and stored:

  • Name and email address — so that I can reply to you.
  • Your message — the content of your enquiry.
  • Page language — a technical field recording which language version you wrote from.

The purpose is to answer your enquiry and, where relevant, to discuss a possible project. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).

Submissions are stored by my hosting provider and also forwarded to my email inbox. They are kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any resulting work, and deleted when that is no longer the case. You can ask for deletion at any time.

Hosting and transfer outside the EU

This site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (United States), which also processes the contact form. As with any web server, Netlify records technical access data such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request, in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

This means your data may be processed in the United States. Netlify relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for such transfers. See the Netlify privacy policy.

What is stored in your browser

This site sets no cookies and uses no tracking technology. It stores two small values locally in your browser, which never leave your device and are never sent to me:

  • theme — whether you chose the light or dark appearance.
  • lang-hint — whether you dismissed the notice about another language version.

You can clear both at any time through your browser settings.

What this site does not do

  • No Google Analytics or any other analytics tool.
  • No advertising, no remarketing, no social media pixels.
  • No external fonts — the typefaces are served from this site itself, so no request is made to Google Fonts.
  • No profiling and no automated decision-making.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these, write to the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

This site links to my GitHub profile and to project sites hosted elsewhere. Once you follow such a link, this policy no longer applies — each of those services has its own.
